We're currently seeking a talented finance officer to join our team as a Cash & Banking Officer, to further compliment our finance team in our Rowville Support Office.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Banking Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Group Finance Operations Manager. The position contributes to the organisation's profitability and operational efficiency by ensuring accurate financial processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
This role is responsible for delivering timely and accurate cash and banking services, while also supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the function.
Key responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Performing accurate and timely bank reconciliations
* Reconciling all payment methods, including cash, cheques, AMEX, Buy Now Pay Later products, and other payment types
* Performing variance analysis and resolving reconciling items
* Meeting month-end reporting deadlines
* Preparing and processing journals as required
* Assisting with internal and external audit requirements
* Identifying opportunities for process improvement within cash and banking operations
* Completion of reconciliations and assigned tasks within required timeframes
* Accuracy and quality of reconciliations
* Compliance with SOX and audit requirements
* Actively identifying and assisting on process improvements
The ideal candidate will have experience in cash and banking operations within a medium to large organisation. You will demonstrate strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the initiative to resolve issues efficiently. A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to contribute to process improvement, will be highly regarded.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate experience in a similar role, or have adequate experience performing these tasks throughout your career.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
* Proven experience in bank and account reconciliations
* Strong Excel and Outlook skills
* Previous banking experience (preferred)
* Experience or willingness to learn Power Query and Blackline is highly regarded
* A flexible approach with the ability to embrace and implement change
* High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong customer focus with high attention to detail
