Disability Support Worker - South East Melbourne & Bayside

CareSavvy is an NDIS registered Service Provider of in‑home care to support people with disabilities (physical & intellectual) and anyone who needs a hand. We support our clients with household tasks, personal care, community participation, transport, overnight support, and respite care.
We are a supportive and close‑knit team with a shared goal of providing the best in‑home support services to our clients.
Our office in Cheltenham is currently recruiting carers for our clients who are based in the Bayside and South eastern suburbs, which include South Yarra, Brighton, Moorabbin, Mentone, Oakleigh, Clayton, Keysborough, Dingley Village, Dandenong, Clyde, Frankston and surrounding areas.
Requirements:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be required to assist people with:
* Personal care assistance: showering/grooming, assisting with dressing and aiding with transfers/hoists
* Domestic Assistance – vacuuming, toilet & bathroom cleaning, dishwashing, making a bed, laundry, light gardening etc.
* In‑home Care: assistance with morning and evening routines, medical prompts, assistance with food preparation & help around the house
* Social & Community participation: engage in the community
* Transport Assistance: assistance with transport to/from Doctor's Appointment, Physio / Therapy Session, School, Gym, sports, visit family or friends as well as escorted / unescorted shopping.
* Overnight Support: active overnight support involves continuous support throughout the night with turning in bed and lifting, personal care, prompting with medication, emergency contact, helping with hydration and inactive overnight involves bedtime and morning support.
* Respite Care: give regular carers a break from their caring role.
Suitable applicant MUST have:
* National Police Check
* WWCC – Working with children check
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (Willing to obtain by June 2021)
* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain one
* Manual handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
* Working rights in Australia
Preferred:
* Qualifications in Cert IV in Disability or III in Individual support highly regarded. (Nurse & nursing student are eligible to apply)
* Six months experience or placement hours completed
* Valid Victorian Driver's licence
* Fully insured vehicle preferred
* Ability to work independently
* Be reliable and punctual
* Communicate effectively and compassionately
Hourly Rate: $28.29 per hour + Super (Weekdays)
