Watertek Pty Ltd is a leading provider of designs, supply and installation of irrigation systems for agriculture, design and supply for commercial irrigation systems for local government parks & gardens and fields and sports club playing areas, water supplies for stock water, water supplies for industry, local and state government bodies as well as trade and retail. Watertek is also a significant provider of products and services into the plumbing sector.
The Agricultural Irrigation Designer and Project Engineer will provide irrigation design services including designs of pump systems, filtration systems, horticultural and broadacre irrigation layouts. This person will drive projects from inception through to commissioning and in collaboration with colleagues will manage best practice outcomes in a timely manner. This person will work with our clients and guide them through the process of achieving an outcome which provides high quality systems which allow for efficient irrigation management and maintenance.
Responsibilities
Ø Responsible for the relationship with clients in the agricultural and commercial irrigation markets.
Ø Providing consultation and services to achieve the best outcome for clients.
Ø Applying engineering skills by design and drafting in Irricad irrigation software and other CAD based software.
Ø Provide best hydraulic outcomes in design of pump, manifolds, valving and filtration in irrigation supply pump sheds and irrigation and pipeline layouts.
Ø Provide analytical diagnosis of hydraulic issues in irrigation systems.
Ø Provide analytical diagnosis of irrigation control systems.
Ø Preparing offers to meet specific need of our clients.
Ø Liaising with suppliers to ensure the best outcome for our clients.
Ø Provide best practice project management to support strong client outcomes.
Ø Liaising with service technicians and contractors to install and commission irrigation and water supply systems.
Ø Adopting a strong platform for furthering industry knowledge through education[JC1] and training. Attainment of Industry standard CID (Certified Irrigation Designer)
Ø Mentoring other staff members where your knowledge and skills are appropriate.
Ø Collaborating with management to implement strategies for continued and improved client outcomes.
Ø Assist the purchasing department with procurement of products, services and spare parts as required to ensure client satisfaction.
Ø Assisting with stock management where appropriate.
Ø Generating and supporting new and existing clients.
Minimum Qualifications
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Agricultural or Equivalent.
· Minimum 5 years experience in the Irrigation and Water Supply industries.
· Experience with CAD based irrigation software ie. Irricad.
· Strong control system trouble shooting skills.
· Excellent written and communication skills.
· Strong knowledge of electric motor control systems and electronics.
