We are seeking an experienced Principal Tailings Engineer to join our team in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne. As a senior member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting our clients' tailings and mine waste management teams to ensure their facilities meet the latest safety standards.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and managing tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and water storage facilities (WSFs). You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with evolving industry standards and regulations, while providing technical and operational support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
* Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
* Understanding of tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D);
* Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
* Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
* Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
* Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
* Client development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
* At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment;
* Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software;
* Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed;
* Excellent writing and communication skills.
