The Opportunity
The Coordinator, Environment reports to the Program Manager, Health Safety, Environment and Sustainability. The role will coordinate and assist the Environmental Advisor with the implementation of the Southern Program Environment Strategy, Construction Environmental Management Plan and associated subplans during construction delivery, to maximise successful project outcomes. This role will involve working across the program, including the South Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs and North Western Suburbs.
Key accountabilities
* Implement Environment Policy, Procedures and Legislative Requirements.
* Assist with the implementation of internal and external audit findings (Improvement Opportunities, Non-conformances).
* Conduct environmental monitoring as required, including noise, vibration, water and air quality.
* Monitor environmental consultants during site works including contaminated land, ecologists and fauna handlers.
* Collect and maintain environmental reports and monitoring data.
* Develop and deliver environmental training, toolbox talks and inductions.
* Investigate and monitor following community environmental complaints.
* Conduct internal environmental audits and participate in external audits.
* Develop and update environmental documentation including EMP, procedures, worksite environmental management plans and control plans.
* Work with site teams following an environmental incident and conduct incident reporting.
Required Skills and Capabilities
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent
* Minimum 2 years in a similar role
* Demonstrated experience in applying environmental management principles in the construction industry
* Working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001)
* Working knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations and best practice publications
