**The Department**

The Alfred Brain Program with in the operations division is comprised of 6 clinical units including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Stroke, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis Neuroimmunology (MSNI) and Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc). The program provides inpatient (Neurosurgery & Epilepsy 6E, Stroke & Neurology 2F), outpatient and diagnostic services (Neurophysiology and Otoneurology/Audiology).

The vision of the Program is to deliver the highest quality neuroscience patient care, training and research, at the forefront of innovation and worlds best practice, and to be recognised nationally and internationally for this. As a result, we aim to be the destination of choice for patients, staff, trainees/students, researchers, and government and industry funding partners. The Alfred Brain runs a large outpatient service with a focus on multidisciplinary specialty clinics with >28,000 patient consultations per year with clinics across The Alfred, Caufield and Sandringham Campuses.

The Alfred Brain Clinics include Neurosurgery, Stroke, General Neurology, Epilepsy, First Seizure, Epilepsy Surgery, Neuromodulation, MSNI, Neuroimmunology/CAR-T, Neuro-ophthalmology, Neuro-otology, Balance Disorders, Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular, Headache and Women's Mental Health. The inpatient component of the program admits >5,500 patients per year across the Neurosurgery, Stroke, Neurology, Epilepsy and MSNI units. In addition, the program has world-leading research program completing the clinical services and providing access to our patients to the latest innovations in clinical care. This includes the only dedicated early phase Neuroscience Clinical Trials unit on 7W, with capacity for overnight and multiday stays.

**The Role**

Every Alfred Health nurse must practice in accordance with the Alfred Health Nursing Professional Practice Framework.

The Professional Practice Framework defines the elements of nursing practice that improve the care and experience of our patients and aligns with the Patient's Come First Strategy.

It is comprised of five domains that are crucial to maintain standards, lead change and add value to healthcare. These domains are Care, Leadership, Professional Development, Workforce, Research and Informatics.

The Outpatients Clinic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that patients are appropriately prepared for the consultation, assisting with clinical support and providing management of designated Specialist Clinics.

The Clinic Coordinator manages the patient journey through the SCC.

A critical aspect of this role includes the management and scheduling of appointments and clinic wait lists to ensure KPI's are achieved

The Clinic Coordinator is allocated to specific designated Specialist Clinics and works closely with Unit Heads, nursing and clerical staff associated with those clinics.

**Qualifications & Experience Required**
- Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Relevant Neurology experience
- Recent acute clinical or ambulatory care nursing background in a relevant health service
- Current and satisfactory Police Check
- Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check
