In this position you will provide a high quality and efficient service and will be required to assist with the production of high-quality meals which meet the requirements of the residents and visitors. Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing of large quantities of high-quality food that meets the resident's nutritional needs and meal preferences.
* Maintaining hygiene and presentation.
* Menu and Service planning.
* Preparing temperature‐controlled food.
* Undertaking storage and stock rotation of food.
* Contributing to the maintenance of safe working conditions for all conditions which includes reporting any hazards or risks.

What We're Looking For
* A completed Certificate III Commercial Cookery.
* Certified Eden Associate or willingness to attain accreditation.
* Experience in food preparation and cooking in a large-scale commercial environment, preferably in an aged care environment.
* Knowledge and experience in the maintenance of hygienic equipment and work areas.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* Proof of COVID‐19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy).
* Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ limited policy.
* Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work.

Our experience in the food and hospitality services goes back over 20 years. From our state‐of‐the‐art purpose‐built kitchen at Moorooka, our talented team of chefs and food assistants work alongside dieticians, nutritionists and speech pathologists to plan, prepare and package a daily full meal service.
We make and deliver meals to residents across Wesley Mission Queensland's aged care communities, as well as other service areas in our organisation including our respite centres and retirement homes.
