At Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our purpose of Building Better Communities Together.
What we are looking for:
If you're someone who loves bringing clarity to complexity, improving how organisations work, and shaping high‐quality system and process outcomes, this role will feel like home.
We're looking for a Process & Test Analyst to lead the development and continuous improvement of Council's business process and test management frameworks. You'll help build consistent, sustainable practices that lift organisational capability, support transformation and ensure our systems and processes deliver real value.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with teams, analysing how work gets done, and guiding others toward better, smarter and more consistent ways of working.
What your day will look like:
* Leading the establishment, maintenance and improvement of Council's business process management and classification frameworks.
* Analysing and documenting current and future state processes to identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
* Ensuring process and test management practices align with governance, standards and quality expectations.
* Developing and coordinating testing strategies and activities, including defect prioritisation and oversight.
* Supporting project teams with process and testing activities, escalating risks and contributing to delivery quality.
* Working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align process design, testing and defect resolution with business requirements.
* Providing advice, guidance and capability uplift to promote consistent adoption of process and testing practices.
What you'll need for success:
* Demonstrated ability to lead and apply business process management practices, including process classification, business analysis, process mapping, and identifying improvement opportunities that deliver measurable business outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee testing activities, ensuring test coverage, defect management, and quality outcomes align with business requirements.
* Ability to provide guidance and support to teams, promoting consistent adoption of process and testing practices while contributing to capability uplift and knowledge sharing.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to document processes, prepare clear advice, and engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work effectively in a complex environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, customer service, and delivery outcomes.
What's nice to have:
* Tertiary qualification (AQF 7 or above) in an IT related or other information resource management discipline.
* Previous similar project leadership role.
* Previous experience in process mapping and improvement.
* Previous experience in coordinating software and process acceptance testing.
* Working knowledge of Local Government.
* Working knowledge of IT Applications testing.
We understand that not all candidates will meet every selection criterion. If you have the right approach and the ability to contribute effectively, we welcome your application.
