Overview
The introductory position of Assistant Casino Host (CAHA) will provide support to the Casino Host (CAHT) onboard each ship. The CAHA will assist in all onboard areas of Casino Marketing and VIP Services. This includes, but is not limited to, all administrative duties & reporting, pre and post cruise preparations, casino rewards and player program responsibilities, advertising & signage, casino tournaments, promotions, special events and casino groups.
Essential duties and responsibilities
All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s The Royal Way, SQM Policies and Procedures, USPH guidelines, environmental, and safety policies. Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various service venues and throughout the ship.
In accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s philosophy of Anchored in Excellence, each employee always conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner. This consists of physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow shipboard employees and/or in the presence of guest contact and crew areas.
- Report directly to the Casino Host. Receive player program and marketing guidance from the Traveling Casino Host, Manager, Casino Marketing & VIP Services-Shipside, and/or Director of Casino Marketing.
- Create and promote a fun and exciting atmosphere for casino guests at all times.
- Diligently recruit recent players to enroll in Club Royale Rewards Program.
- Provide VIP services desk and casino floor coverage as needed to maximize guest interaction.
- Upsell, assist, and operate casino tournaments, events, and promotions.
- Continuously learn and understand all casino segments operations including Club Royale, Partnerships, and Royal Reps.
- Be knowledgeable of all shoreside casino marketing offers including terms & conditions and the qualifying components.
- Understand casino products and gaming, theoretical and actual win/loss, tier points, status, and rewards for effective communication.
- Acquire a strong working knowledge of software systems: Aristocrat Oasis’ Super Playmate & Omniview, Genesis Pit Watch, Fidelio, CRMS, Siebel, Silverware, Tournament Director and Multimedia, Sharepoint and Smartsheets.
- Learn aspects of Business Intelligence reporting including Arrivals Report, Player Tracking File, Tier Ranking report, EOV Report, Host Folio Comp Report, OBC Report, F&Q; Report, Crystal reporting, and all Closing Voyage Paperwork.
- Complete daily reporting within set timeframes (e.g., collating daily figures, cruise reports, PC rewards, buddy list, recording weekly & monthly promotional figures).
- Export Oasis and Bravo reports to monitor daily play and issue complimentary items based on play.
- Prepare daily for all complimentary issuances (Instant Rewards Certificates, Tier level upgrades, comp drink cards, memos for bookings & reservations, amenities arranged to guest staterooms, and other player requests).
- Perform all forms of redemptions during a cruise (e.g., slot play promotions, mid- and end-of-cruise point redemption).
- Organize upcoming cruise preparations (guest count confirmations, welcome letters, Prime TTO sticker for SeaPass cards, amenities & pre-cruise reservation requests, PCP).
- Ensure all onboard marketing collateral & advertising is in place, including accuracy and timeliness of written verbiage, signage, and casino announcements.
- Operate effectively and responsibly under minimal supervision.
- Complete all tasks and responsibilities accurately and on time, with attention to detail.
- Follow all casino SQM and SOP guidelines.
- Attend casino-related meetings and workshops as requested.
- Maintain correct inventory levels by reviewing stock regularly and placing orders in a timely manner.
- Step up and perform the full duties of the Casino Host when required.
- Fulfill the role of Acting Casino Host in the event of an absence, which may include transferring to a different ship operation.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor or management from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
