About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director, you will have full responsibility for operational delivery, commercial outcomes, safety performance, and leadership across the business. You'll focus on the bigger picture and be responsible for:

* Winning the right work

You will lead the following team: Works Manager | Senior Project Engineer | Site Engineers | Estimator | Quality Engineer | Administration Officer| Supervisors & Crews

Key Responsibilities

* Business Development: Identify, pursue and secure new civil construction opportunities across WA - building a strong, sustainable pipeline of work for us.

* Client & Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agency clients, developers, local councils, and head contractors -becoming the face of the company in the market.

* Tendering & Commercial Management: Oversee the tender and estimating process, including pricing strategy, submission quality contract negotiations and mobilisation planning and working closely with the estimator.

* People Leadership: Recruit, lead, support, and develop the team. Setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and building a high-performance culture.

* Operational Oversight: Ensure projects are properly resourced and set up for success; monitor business-wide performance and resolve operational issues proactively.

* Financial Performance: Own the P&L, manage budgets, forecasts, contract risk, overhead costs, track project margins, and report on financial performance and business KPIs to the Director.

* Business Growth Strategy: Collaborate with the Director to shape the company's growth strategy. New markets, target clients, and opportunities to expand our footprint.

* Compliance & Governance: Ensure the company meets its obligations across safety, quality, and contractual requirements supported by the existing technical team.

What You'll Bring

* A background in civil construction - you understand the industry, the language, and how projects are won and delivered

* Proven experience winning work and managing client relationships in construction or civil infrastructure

* Strong people leadership - you know how to build and get the best out of a team

* Commercial acumen - confident reading financials, managing margins, and making sound business decisions

* Experience overseeing tendering and estimating processes

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Strategic thinker who can also roll their sleeves up when needed

* Current WA driver's licence
