Occupational Therapist - Southern Moreton Bay Islands Community Partnership Service

Occupational Therapist – Support Recovery & Independence within the Southern Moreton Bay Islands!
Make a meaningful impact as part of Metro South Health’s Southern Moreton Bay Islands Community Partnership Service. You’ll provide high-quality occupational therapy across diverse settings, supporting patients and their families in achieving independence and wellbeing. Full-time role until 30 June 2026!

About Your Role
As an Occupational Therapist with the Southern Moreton Bay Islands Community Partnership Service (SMBI CPS), you will deliver evidence-based therapy that supports patients to achieve independence and quality of life.

In This Role, You Will

- Provide assessment, intervention, education, and discharge planning to patients in community and home-based settings.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and interprofessional teams to ensure holistic and patient-centred care.
- Manage an allocated caseload, maintaining accurate documentation and timely reporting.
- Support quality improvement, research, and service development activities.
- Participate in supervision, clinical education, and contribute to the growth of junior staff and students.
- Travel as required between Redland Bay, SMBI, and other Metro South Health facilities.

- Clinical expertise in occupational therapy, including the ability to deliver assessments and interventions that enhance patient outcomes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams, patients, carers, and external agencies.
- Organisational skills to manage caseloads and balance clinical and non-clinical duties.
- Commitment to learning and development, actively engaging in professional growth and evidence-based practice.
- Leadership potential, including the ability to support students and less experienced staff.
- Flexibility and initiative to contribute to service development, quality improvement, and research activities.

Community and Oral Health Services deliver a broad range of quality community-based care and support services to help people improve and maintain their wellbeing and independence as well as oral health services to adults and children.

We deliver a myriad of services across Metro South including Hospital in the Home, Rehabilitation, Chronic Disease, Acute Care, Dementia Outreach, Oral Health, and specialist residential care along with delivering numerous other vital community health services.

Our services are delivered by multidisciplinary teams of nursing and allied health staff with the skills and experience to treat a full range of health needs.
