About the role: Crime and Counter Terrorism Investigations Services (CCTIS) is a specialist area within Victoria Police that works with partner agencies to investigate, disrupt and mitigate the risk of terrorism and politically motivated violence in Victoria. The Strategic Coordination Unit (SCU) provides forward looking advice to decision makers at CCTIS on national security threats and related matters from a Victorian perspective. The successful applicant will be working as part of a five (5) person team producing intelligence products and high-level reports in support of investigations, operations and the strategic direction of CCTIS. Working closely with other intelligence staff in a dynamic environment, Senior Analysts have the opportunity to participate in training and exercises to expand their skills and support organisational emergency response capabilities. Your duties will include: * Development of intelligence products relating to the local and international terrorism environment. * Undertaking the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis and controlled dissemination of information. * Monitor internal and external intelligence and information sources, both open and closed. * Make high quality and actionable recommendations. * Liaise with and develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Maintain comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of the terrorist threat environment, at a local, regional and global level. * Provide immediate intelligence support in response to terrorism-related incidents. * Compile high-level reports for management, government and the Office of the Chief Commissioner. As the successful applicant, you will have: * A demonstrated interest in intelligence and counter terrorism. * Be self-motivated and work independently. * Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external personnel and stakeholders * Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills and the proven use of initiative in solving problems * Proven ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality results * The ability to work well under pressure to strict deadlines. * Ability to work in a dynamic, small team environment of both sworn and VPS employees. * Qualifications in international relations and/or criminal intelligence practice are favourably regarded. Requirements and relevant information: * One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available. * This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. * The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
