Marketing Operations & Planning Manager
Job Description
About the Role, Accountabilities & Outcomes
As the Marketing Operations & Planning Manager, you will be the primary engine driving the operational excellence of the Marketing, Content, and Comm team. Reporting directly to the CMO's Chief of Staff, you will sit at the intersection of strategy, resource planning, and execution. This high‐visibility, high‐impact role is designed for an action‐oriented professional who can think broadly about business operations while obsessing over the details. You will be responsible for ensuring our strategic recommendations are backed by a strong operating rhythm and rigorous planning, and that our multi‐million dollar investments are tracked with precision.
Key Accountabilities
* Strategic Planning Support: Assist the Chief of Staff in driving the annual strategy and quarterly planning cycles, synthesising inputs from the wider Marketing, Content, and Comm team, Finance, HR, and Product into actionable roadmaps.
* Operational Rhythm: Own the "operating beat" of the team, managing the tracking of OKRs and performance metrics to ensure the team is delivering on its promises to the business.
* Business Casing & Investment Logic: Support the development of robust business cases for new initiatives, defining the problem, outlining the "size of the prize," and collaborating with stakeholders to model potential ROI.
* Budget & Financial Governance: Partner with the Chief of Staff and Finance to manage the quarterly budget process, ensuring accurate tracking of spend, outcomes, and ROI across Residential and Commercial businesses.
* Cross‐Functional Momentum: Build strong relationships with cross‐functional peers to streamline workflows and remove silos, ensuring the Marketing, Content, and Comm team is aligned with broader company goals.
* Team Culture & Enablement: Partner with the Chief of Staff and HR to execute initiatives that drive team engagement, development programs, and high‐performance reward systems.
* Process Optimisation: Continuously identify "friction points" in how we work, leveraging tools and automation to improve efficiency and team agility.
Our Ideal Person – Essentials Experience
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a fast‐paced environment; a high‐growth individual who may have completed a structured Graduate Program for a Consulting or large Enterprise company or is driving strategy/planning within a leading creative agency.
* Commercial Acumen: Comfortable with "Business Case" thinking, capable of pulling together data and narrative to justify an investment or strategy shift.
* Delivery: Structured and organised, able to plan and drive project outcomes, navigating teams to meet deadlines and gateways.
* Tooling Proficiency: Expert‐level experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, JIRA) and a high level of comfort with financial tracking software and Excel/Google Sheets.
* Action‐Oriented Mindset: You "gets stuff done"—you build the spreadsheet, schedule the meeting, and drive the solution to completion.
* Business Breadth: Speak the language of different functions; understand how a marketing budget impacts a PnL and how a product roadmap influences a communications strategy.
* People & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and influence colleagues who may be more senior than you through logic, empathy, and clarity.
* Analytical Rigor: Strong proficiency in data synthesis and financial tracking, comfortable turning complex inputs into simple, executive‐level updates.
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
* Preferred Experience in Tech, Media, Real Estate, or a high‐growth SaaS environment.
* Exposure to structured problem‐solving and change management frameworks.
* Experience in leveraging AI tools to accelerate workflow, automate routine tasks, and synthesize large amounts of information for faster decision‐making.
