An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Central Community Mental Health as an Administration Officer. You will work as part of an administrative team to coordinate and oversee the main reception area and provide comprehensive administrative and business support to the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS).
About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (MHAODS) is responsible for delivering Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service provide an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres. The Health Service is 95 percent self-sufficient with only a small number of high-level acute services being provided in Townsville and Brisbane.

About your role:
* Frontline reception duties at a community mental health facility, including but not limited to phone coverage, switchboard, preparing incoming/outgoing mail, client file management, appointment management, resource management, and filing.
* Demonstrated proficiency in the typing, document preparation, data entry and the use of computerised software packages (e.g. QHEPS, Microsoft Office Suite, UMS, MediRecords, HBCIS, S4HANA, ieMR, CIMHA & myHR) and ability to rapidly acquire skills in the application of computerised resource and patient management.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of administrative duties with minimal supervision, set work priorities and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated communication skills to effectively liaise with other staff and relate to clients and the public in a sensitive, confidential and courteous manner.
