Overview
Apprentice - Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - B1.3 Mechanical, Melbourne based. This is a 4-year hands-on apprenticeship leading to a Diploma of Aeroskills – Mechanical, mentored within Babcock Mission Critical Services. The role supports the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) contract and AW139 helicopter maintenance in Essendon, Victoria.
Responsibilities
- Support the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services Contract
- Participate in scheduled servicing and defect rectification of AW139 helicopters
- Assist with avionic repairs and maintenance
- General upkeep of plant and equipment, store duties, and related tasks
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid driver’s licence
- A strong academic record, with preference for mathematics and physics
- Exceptional attention to detail
- A genuine interest in practical hobbies/activities and a high level of dexterity
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles
- An outstanding work ethic and self-motivation
- The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Highly regarded qualifications include:
- Successful completion of Year 12 secondary education
Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test.
