Northern Adelaide based role for experienced Cost Capability Engineer

Your new organisation is an industry leader, with business segments providing advanced Defence and Commercial technologies across Air, Land, Sea, Space and Cyber Domains. This company has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Capability Analyst to join their team based in Adelaide.
**Your new role**
A Cost Capability Analyst is required within the Systems Engineering Team. The Analyst is accountable under broad direction to undertake capability analysis, complex systems estimation and analysis and assurance activities. They will work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.
Under limited supervision, the Cost Capability Analyst is responsible for providing the following functions and outputs:
- Analyse and evaluate submarine design alternatives and associated cost estimates. Provide advice to senior management to support the decision making process and provide input into cost capability trade-off studies;
- Develop trade-study reports, leverage submarine cost estimates, and develop recommendations to support decision making, milestone reviews, government approvals and independent cost assessments;
- Attend program reviews of submarine design alternatives and cost data during design and construction and whole of life cycle and provide independent analysis to support program decision making;
- Research and maintain information for use in data analysis and normalisation, to support cost estimation, capability assurance, decision making and program reviews;
- Communicate with Submarine Division engineering teams, Commercial Section, Navy and wider engineering community with regards to cost engineering; and
- Implement capability level trade-off and decision support policies, processes, methods, tools, training and take the initiative to provide feedback and recommendations.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Maritime Engineering background with extensive cost engineering experience with preferred experience in the submarine field.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree eligible for Professional Membership with Engineers Australia
- To have obtained Engineers Australia Stage 1 competency standard for Professional Engineering recognition (or ability to obtain status as a Professional Engineering within three months)
