The Department of Education in the North Queensland region is looking for Psychologists to join our school-based wellbeing teams.

These two positions are being offered in a Permanent Full-Time role and a Permanent Part-Time role (0.53 FTE, 20 hours per fortnight).
Who We Are
Townsville State High School – a co-educational secondary school in Railway Estate, offering Years 7-12 with a strong focus on inclusivity, academic achievement, and diverse pathways.
The school provides broad subject offerings, including STEM, creative arts, and specialist programmes such as its well-known basketball programme.
Cranbrook State School – a friendly, community-focused primary school in Cranbrook, catering to Prep-Year 6.

The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns in Townsville and surrounds, with vacancies currently at Cranbrook SS and Townsville SHS.
Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
Responsibilities
Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning.
Provide services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
