Position Purpose
The purpose of the Computer Network and Systems Engineer (ANZSCO 263111) role is to design, implement, manage and optimize the organization’s computer networks, systems and infrastructure to ensure they operate securely, efficiently and without interruption. The position is responsible for maintaining high-performing network environments, resolving complex technical issues, supporting system upgrades, and ensuring the reliability, scalability and security of all IT systems. This role plays a critical part in enabling smooth business operations by ensuring the organization’s technology environment remains robust, stable and aligned with industry best practices and emerging technological needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop, deploy, test and optimize computer networks and system services to support organizational requirements.
- Manage configuration and operational readiness of all network systems, ensuring reliability, security and uninterrupted performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex network faults and technical issues to maintain smooth system operation.
- Research, analyse and recommend improvements or enhancements to network architecture, system design and emerging technologies.
- Implement, manage, maintain and configure network hardware, software, servers, routers, switches and related infrastructure.
- Monitor, assess and optimise system and network performance, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and stability.
- Provide technical and user support, offering guidance, issue resolution and system assistance to staff across the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Network Engineering.
- Basic experience in network setup, system support, or troubleshooting.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals (preferred but not essential).
