About the Category Manager Role:
This is a unique opportunity to join our procurement team as a dynamic Category Manager. You will be responsible for managing indirect and marketing categories, such as POS print management, packaging design, creative and content agencies, and photography.
* You will establish the category strategic direction and commercial outcomes as a trusted partner to the business.
* Managing internal & external resources effectively to support, develop and execute category plans that produce the desired business results.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop total cost of ownership strategy with support from Senior Category Manager and relevant category and sub-category strategic plans and priorities.
2. Identify opportunities and realise value through effective use of strategic cost management tools (e.g. should-cost analysis, four box model).
3. Track forecasted vs. actual savings according to the Coles Value Tracking Process for categories in scope.
4. Success in this role will be achieving or exceeding annual efficiency targets set against category plans, achieved through commercial dealings with suppliers and internal customers.
Requirements:
* Advanced commercial skills including negotiation, 'should cost' modelling, financial analysis and risk & contract management.
* Related tertiary qualification, ideally with Commerce, Legal or Marketing.
* Strong procurement experience at a category manager level, ideally within the indirect categories or industries listed above.
