Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our marine fouling control initiatives. As the Product Development Director, you will be responsible for driving and coordinating project activities to achieve technical and financial goals.
About the Role
* Guide communication between technical, product management, and commercial teams.
* Be an important resource in working with global and regional product management teams assessing voice of customer and market data to support our projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Bring technology strategy supporting fouling control vision as the technical liaison.
* Lead collaboration efforts with commercial, product management and technical teams to outline product portfolio consistent with fouling control technologies and capabilities.
* Guide project planning and execution.
* Provide expert knowledge and technical leadership to overcome project obstacles and deliver unique products on-time and in-full (OTIF).
* Ensure project requirements and product specifications are kept updated to reflect current customer requirements and regulatory standards (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly - DFMEA).
* Collaborate with project management and commercial teams to maintain project portfolio consistent with business and market needs.
* Manage PPG Intellectual Property (IP) landscape in fouling control segment.
* Work with project team to outline patent strategy for important innovations.
* Monitor competitive landscape to assess IP strategy and effect on PPG marine business.
* Participate in third-party committees to stay current on regulatory requirements and influence testing protocols.
Qualifications
* High level of technical understanding and leadership (Master's or Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent).
* Over 10 years In-depth experience of marine fouling control coatings.
* Coordinate multiple complex activities in a global environment.
* Work and provide positive guidance across teams.
