Aboriginal Heritage Specialist Role
This role involves overseeing, leading and working with a team to deliver Aboriginal heritage related projects. The successful candidate will have significant experience and expertise in Aboriginal heritage management and conservation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading the delivery of heritage projects, including project teams, fieldwork, timelines, and meeting project goals.
* Engaging with clients on their project requirements, providing expert advice on heritage and archaeological matters, and developing tailored solutions that meet client needs while adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Effective stakeholder engagement with internal and external stakeholders relevant to the role.
* Presenting technical findings to non-technical persons, including clients and community.
* Well-versed in heritage and archaeological legislation, regulations, and guidelines, applying this knowledge to assess significance, develop conservation strategies, and mitigate impacts on heritage and archaeological values.
* Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff, helping to develop their skills and expertise in heritage and archaeological management and consultancy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
* A minimum of 10+ years of experience for the principal role and 5+ years for the senior role.
* Preferably experience in a consultancy environment.
* Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and associated regulations and guidelines, with experience in NSW highly regarded.
* Demonstrate leadership experience, including project management and team coordination.
* Interest and experience with client relationship management.
* Australian Drivers license (ideally with 4WD experience).
