A bit about your role The Senior Manager – Security Controls leads the Line 1 security function for the Active Network, ensuring cyber security controls are well designed, effectively operated, and continuously improved in line with organisational standards, Essential 8 maturity requirements, SOCI obligations, and TSRMP governance. The role directs a multidisciplinary team to translate control patterns and architectural guardrails into consistent, reliable operational practices. Working across Engineering, IT, Delivery, Cyber Defence, Security Architecture, and Line 2 assurance, the Senior Manager provides strategic oversight and governance across key control domains including identity and privileged access, platform hardening, segmentation, telemetry, vulnerability management, and monitoring. The role drives uplift in capability, operational discipline, and control maturity to ensure timely access management, strong evidence quality, reliable patching, and resilient detection coverage across the Active Network. A bit about you We are seeking an exceptional people leader with a proven ability to guide technical teams in large, complex, or highly regulated environments. You create high trust, inclusive cultures where individuals are empowered to perform at their best, and you excel at coaching senior specialists and emerging leaders through change and ambiguity. Your leadership style balances delivery pressure with clarity, care, and a focus on long-term capability building. You bring strong security and operational foundations, including a solid understanding of security control operations such as access governance, patching, vulnerability management, monitoring, logging, and telemetry. You are experienced in navigating governance and assurance frameworks within regulated settings and skilled at influencing across federated organisations.
