About The Position
We provide quality 24/7 care in supported independent living accommodation settings (SIL/Group Homes) ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for our customers. You will provide direct support across a range of customer needs including domestic and personal care assistance, and help our customers access and have a positive connection to the community. You will support individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges as well as those living with disabilities, promoting independence, resilience, and an improved quality of life.
Job Details
* Qualification requirement: Cert III in Disability / Individual Support
* Minimum 2 years' experience supporting clients with mental health conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, PTSD)
* Experience with medication management
* Skills: clear communication, proactive approach, leadership and resilience
* Expected hours: 24/7 roster including overnight support, minimum availability 2 sleepovers per fortnight and one of the two weekends a fortnight
* Required licenses / certifications: full driving licence, Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Screening
About You
* Willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public/school holidays (including Christmas, Boxing and New Years days) with significant availability
* Ability to undertake tasks detailed in customers Behaviour Support Plan
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support
* Understanding of Mental Health First Aid practices
* Resilience, confidence and the ability to work independently and as a team
* Strong communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships
* Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement
* Ability to use computers and learn a variety of software/programs
* Possession of a smartphone
* Current Australian Driver's Licence
