Are you a technology leader ready to execute the product vision for one of Australia's fastest‑growing and most innovative tech companies on the Gold Coast?
Well, let us introduce ourselves. We’re AutoGuru, an award‑winning powerhouse on a mission to revolutionise the automotive industry. Our primary focus is on FleetGuru, our powerful B2B digital authorisation platform, streamlining maintenance for Australia's largest vehicle fleets by pioneering the use of AI to make automotive care more predictive and intelligent.
We’re continuing to make serious waves in the auto industry as we evolve the capability and application of our locally developed technology. We're revving up to take on even bigger challenges both here in Australia and beyond, pioneering the future of fleet management with emerging AI. That's why we're looking for a visionary and operational Head of Technology to lead our entire product, design, and engineering division on this mission!
About The Role:
This isn't just an engineering management role; this is the key operational leadership position for our entire technology discipline. Reporting to the CTO, you will be the 2IC responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership of our cross‑functional teams, including Development, Product Management, and Design.
You will take full ownership of the end‑to‑end delivery of our flagship SaaS product, FleetGuru, empowering your teams to build world‑class software. Your success will be instrumental in allowing the CTO to focus on global strategy and internationalisation, while you masterfully execute the product roadmap and daily operations.
And yes, you get to enjoy our awesome beachside office. Gold Coast stereotypes are correct - our crew surf at lunch and hike on the weekends.
Must‑have experience:
- 7‑10+ years in technology leadership, with 5+ years in a senior role (e.g., Head of Engineering, Director of Product) within a SaaS product company.
- Crucially: Proven experience leading diverse, cross‑functional teams, including Product Management and Engineering.
- A track record of success in a high‑growth scale‑up environment.
- Expert‑level understanding of the modern SDLC and Agile methodologies, with a passion for optimising delivery pipelines.
- Backed by a strong technical engine, you earn the respect of senior engineers and steer key architectural decisions with precision.
- Exceptional leadership under the hood - skilled in mentoring, guiding the crew, and keeping all stakeholders in sync.
- Proven experience managing the fuel that keeps the engine running - from resource planning and budgeting to scaling the team for peak performance.
Nice to have:
- Experience in the Fleet, Automotive, or Logistics tech space.
- Awareness of emerging AI tools and a passion for using new tech to boost operational efficiency.
About You:
- A natural leader and mentor, you know how to tune a team for peak performance — building a crew that fires on all cylinders.
- The perfect blend of strategist and operator, you can see the whole road ahead and know exactly how to steer the team to get there.
- Fueled by continuous learning, you thrive on helping your team shift gears and grow.
- A true team player - collaboration is your fuel, but when opportunity’s in sight, you’re ready to hit the accelerator and take the lead.
- You are based in the Gold Coast, Australia.
We’re an inclusive and flexible workplace, and our perks and culture are pretty sweet (if we say so ourselves).
We offer:
- Hybrid work options.
- Take advantage of discounted car servicing and even enjoy a paid day off on your birthday - because you deserve it!
- Recognition Program, where your hard work is celebrated and your achievements are valued from day one.
- Prospect to excel in your career through ongoing learning and development from our internal Guruversity program.
- Bask in the contemporary charm of our industrial office, just a stone's throw away from the beach and public transport, complete with cozy chill‑out spaces and all‑around good vibes.
- Park your worries (and your wheels) with free secure parking, bike racks, surfboard racks, and even a pool table for those well‑deserved breaks.
- Dive into a calendar packed with exciting team events led by our dedicated Culture Crew.
As an employer, we’re hyper‑focused on building high‑performing teams filled with exceptional people that align with our values of ‘here to help’, ‘move with purpose’, ‘think 10x’, ‘play as a team’, ‘numbers over hype’, and ‘innovative for the future’. Sound like you?
