The key duties of the position include The Library is seeking to fill an ongoing System Administrator, Patch Management APS6 role in the Technology Operations Section of the Digital Branch. This role contributes to, and is primarily responsible for, administration of the Windows operating systems, BAU Windows/Cyber related tickets, infrastructure related tasks, vulnerability assessments and patching activities. We are looking for a team player, who can work independently and as part of a team across multiple stakeholders, with a positive and professional attitude, and open to learn and apply new skills and knowledge. To succeed in this role, you must have: Knowledge of patch management principles and practices for Windows systems. This includes understanding how to identify vulnerabilities, prioritise patches, and apply them promptly. High level expertise with relevant technology stacks and infrastructure assigned to the role. The following will be highly regarded: Proactive security approach including but not limited to application hardening, Operating System configuration, server and firmware upgrades and other Essential Eight mitigations. Possession of relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or relevant experience. Scripting, especially with PowerShell, for automation repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and streamlining the patching process.
