About This Role
This dynamic role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function and play a key part in shaping business-wide initiatives that support growth, strategic direction, and strong financial performance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in senior financial management roles, preferably in multi-entity environments. Experience in consulting engineering or professional services industries is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of the Finance team including AP/AR/Payroll.
* Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans identifying areas for improvement.
* Coordinate consolidation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant Accounting Standards.
* E nsure all tax obligations are met, including R&D, FBT, GST, Income Tax, and Transfer Pricing.
* Deliver high-quality financial analysis, insight, and recommendations on performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives like mergers and acquisitions, capital investment, and restructuring.
* Coordinate group-level external audits, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring timely resolution of audit matters.
* Oversee and contribute to month-end processes, preparing Executive Reports and variance analyses.
* Collaborate with external stakeholders, including tax advisors, auditors, bankers, and accounting specialists.
* Lead finance transformation initiatives, including systems upgrades, process reengineering, and shared services.
* Develop strategies to optimize working capital and minimize financial risk.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to the finance team, supporting their professional development and agile careers.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Certified Practicing Accountant, or similar professional institution.
* Proven experience in senior financial management roles, preferably in multi-entity environments.
* Experience in consulting engineering or professional services industries is highly desirable but not mandatory.
* Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
* Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
* Advanced knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
