We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.Click here to learn more about our NetworkAdditional InformationAn eligibility list may be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.What You'll Be DoingThe Research Operations Manager, Kids Heart Research at the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is responsible for coordinating the operational, financial, and workforce functions of the Cardiac Research program and reports to the Network Cardiac Services Business Manager and Kids Heart Research Lead. This position includes managing research staff, such as medical students and contingent workers, and overseeing general operational activities to support the research team.The role encompasses administration of finances, fundraising, grants, ethics submissions, publications, reporting activities, and staffing.Additionally, the Research Operations Manager maintains effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Workforce Services, Finance, Kids Research, Public Relations, patients and their families. They also collaborate with universities, external research partners, and funding bodies to ensure efficient research delivery and compliance with grant funding requirements.A degree in science, health or business management or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with a range of professionals at multiple organisational levels.Ability to operate in a frequently changing environment with many responsibilities.Demonstrated experience in contributing to operational and administrative activities within a research group or institution.Demonstrated high level organisation and time management skills with excellent attention to detail, as well as a demonstrated ability to be self-directed and innovative.Demonstrated high level skills & experience in project management and/or planning and development.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.For roles that require formal qualifications, please note that overseas qualifications must be assessed by the Department of Education or the relevant authority appointed by the Australian Government for skilled migration purposes.SCHN is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity - we acknowledge the vibrancy that a diverse workforce brings to enhance both our workplace culture and our service delivery to children, young people and their families and carers.
