About the vacancy

WE ARE EXPANDING! We're seeking a mid-senior level WHS & Compliance Manager to join our brand‐new, state‐of‐the‐art Marsden Park facility in Northwest Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a newly established site featuring a fully automated warehouse with the latest technology, supported by a vibrant and safety‐focused culture.

You will play a key role in establishing WHS systems, culture, and operational standards within a newly commissioned automated facility. This role suits a WHS professional who enjoys high‐risk operations, operational engagement and building mature safety systems in technically advanced environments.

In this role, you will provide WHS leadership across the business, partnering with stakeholders to identify risks, drive continuous improvement and embed a strong safety‐first mindset. You will be working closely with site operations, engineering and regional leadership. Main Duties
* Develop, implement and maintain the site WHS Management System in line with NSW WHS legislation and NewCold standards.
* Lead ISO 45001 implementation, certification and ongoing compliance at the Marsden Park site.
* Maintain WHS documentation, compliance registers, audit readiness and legislative updates.
* Manage risk assessments, hazard identification and critical risk controls across high‐risk operations.
* Oversee safety risks relating to automated systems, ammonia refrigeration, hypoxic environments, mobile plant and maintenance activities.
* Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and preventative improvement initiatives.
* Coordinate internal and external WHS audits, management reviews and non‐conformance closeouts.
* Facilitate WHS consultation processes, including Health & Safety Representatives and committees.
* Develop emergency response plans, training and major hazard readiness programmes.
* Monitor WHS performance, provide leadership reporting and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and transport safety requirements.
* Support site leadership in meeting due diligence and legal WHS obligations.
Education & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum five years' experience in high‐risk industrial, logistics or automated environments.
* Proven experience implementing and managing WHS Management Systems.
* Strong background in ISO 45001 implementation, certification and audit processes.
* Experience managing major hazard risks including heavy vehicles, automation, plant equipment, fatigue, loading and unloading operations and hazardous chemicals.
* Experience managing Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVAS/WAHVA compliance requirements and transport compliance programmes.
Key Skills & Knowledge
* Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation, HVNL, CoR obligations and transport compliance requirements.
* Incident investigation and root cause analysis capability.
* Experience in risk management, hazard control, critical risk implementation and safety assurance processes.
* Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong knowledge of NHVAS, WAHVA, mass, maintenance, fatigue and speed management compliance systems.
* Experience managing contractors, sub‐contractors and high‐risk work activities within transport and warehousing operations.
* Experience preparing for and participating in external audits, regulator interactions and compliance investigations.

Qualifications
* Licences & Certifications
* Current driver's licence.
* Formal WHS qualification (Diploma or Degree level).
* ICAM or Incident Investigation Training (preferred).
