We are seeking a passionate and dedicated academic to join our Mechanical Engineering discipline as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent). The successful applicant will contribute to world-leading research and teaching.

Responsibilities:

1. Teach and develop courses in areas such as submarine design, naval architecture, nuclear engineering, radiation detection and measurement, nuclear safety and materials, plasma/fusion science, thermal-fluids, propulsion systems and maritime engineering.

2. Conduct high-quality research in collaboration with a vibrant academic team working on naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, hydroacoustics, experiments, modelling and simulation, hydrodynamics, and energy technologies.

3. Engage with industry, government, and academic partners to drive innovation in nuclear and maritime sectors.
">
4. Candidates with a strong research track record or significant industry experience are encouraged to apply.

5. Interdisciplinary collaboration is central to this role, and the successful applicant will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Qualifications:
">
">
* Ph D in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in nuclear and/or maritime engineering.
">
* Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths such as hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, navel nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, energy technologies, fluid processes in maritime and nuclear or relevant industry applications.

* Substantial record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings.
">
* Record of success in effective teaching using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning and efficiently manage course coordination duties.
">
* Demonstrated ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students.
