About the Role
Are you passionate about data and eager to make an impact in higher education? USSC is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors for DATA5207 (Data Analysis in the Social Sciences unit) for Semester 1, 2026. As a tutor, you will facilitate engaging tutorials, provide academic support to students, and contribute to a vibrant learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate 2 hour tutorial sessions for DATA5207 in Semester 1.
* Support students' learning by providing guidance, feedback, and clarification on course content.
* Assist with marking assignments and exams.
* Collaborate with course coordinators to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
About You
Essential Qualifications:
* AQF10 (Doctoral) or current PhD student (>1year) in cognate discipline
OR
AQF9 (Masters) in a cognate discipline (Information Technology, Computer Science, or Data Science) with minimum of 3 years full-time work experience in a relevant field.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
* Expert in R programming and RMarkdown
Desirable:
* Prior teaching or tutoring experience in a University setting.
* Prior experience with R in a workplace or academic setting
