**The Role**
The role of Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer at the School of Infantry Headquarters will be varied and challenging, requiring the ability to conduct risk analysis, manage safety and policy requirements and coordinate quality assurance procedures. The role will see the WHS Officer work alongside uniformed Defence personnel to ensure whole of unit compliance with WHS legislation and policy.
The position presents a unique opportunity to work within a small, close-knit team directly supporting the execution of infantry training that is safe and compliant with WHS policy and legislation. Specific duties associated with the role include; perform and achieve complex work health and safety management procedures as part of an integrated force, interpret and provide specialist advice on matters relating to WHS legislation and policy, and conduct periodic reviews and quality assurance of the WHS and risk mitigation procedures at the School of Infantry.
The role requires in-office execution primarily, based out of the School of Infantry Headquarters at the Singleton Military Area.

The School of Infantry Headquarters is a dynamic and diverse workplace with a team comprised of APS, contractor and uniformed Defence personnel. Its role is to coordinate, support and enable the action arms of the School of Infantry in training and managing a range of infantry courses.
