Labourer
Mackay Regional Council is seeking an experienced Labourer to join our Civil Operations team, based at the Sarina Depot. This position is permanent fulltime with a 9 day fortnight roster.

About this opportunity:
The primary duty of this position is to carry out labouring and plant and truck operation duties associated with maintenance and construction of roads and drainage assets and other associated civil infrastructure as directed by the Supervisor or Leading Hand.?
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
* Current General Construction Safety White card
* Current QLD manual Car ‘C’ class open Driver’s licence
* Current QLD Medium Rigid Truck ‘MR’ Class Licence (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
* Competent operation of small ride-on equipment and rigid motor vehicle with GVM up to 15 tonnes with ofcompetency for civil construction machinery.
* Ability to provide maintenance of assigned plant and work cooperatively with mechanical service personnel to repair and maintain assigned plant.
* Previous experience with maintenance and construction of roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure including earthworks, concrete, pipelaying, bitumen and vegetation work and hands on labouring tasks.
Desirable:
* Certificate II in Civil Construction
* Experience with Asset Management Software (AMS), preferably Assetic AMS
* Experience in traffic control and bitumen tasks

Special Requirements
* Willingness to work overtime as required
* Flexibility to operate other constructionequipment and undertake higher duties
