Design & Development: The role blends creativity with mechanical problem-solving by bringing new products to life, from initial concept and inspiration boards to final, refined pieces.
Technical Authority: Own all CAD aspects required to transition new designs into production, focusing on precise digital craftsmanship and rigorous engineering.
Innovation: Research and develop new mechanisms, clasps, connections, and settings.
Quality & Compliance: Rectify quality control issues and improve products using CAD tools.
Document all design standards and rules to ensure consistent quality across all products.
Project Management: Be responsible for managing and meeting timelines inline with the company design calendar.
Collaboration: Work alongside the Creative Director, Product Director, and Senior Designer to create collections and new product categories.
Asset Management: Enter and track all design materials ordered and used by CAD designers.
Ensure secure backups of files to protect the company's valuable IP.
Production Readiness: Create accurate style files for production and guide each design through its full technical evolution, from 3D prints to final casting refinements.
ABOUT YOU
You are a creative self-starter with a sharp focus on detail, exceptional organisation, and a collaborative spirit.
Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience as a Jewellery CAD Designer.
Advanced experience (5+ years) in the software programs Matrix and Rhinoceros 3D, alongside knowledge of Trello and Google Suite.
Industry Knowledge: Proven understanding of jewellery construction, materials, and gemstone setting, with the ability to visualise and technically interpret designs.
Drive: Extremely efficient and capable of working effectively to deadlines.
Communication: Possess fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
