Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Easily accessible to Sydney residents, our team of clinicians, allied health, and support staff works with the community on a shared goal to maintain the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Blue Mountains region.

We are seeking a dedicated Allied Health Assistant with a strong interest in physiotherapy to join our team. This role provides the opportunity to work across a range of clinical settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, medical wards, hydrotherapy, and aged care services. You will work under the direction of physiotherapists to deliver high quality care that supports patient recovery, mobility, and independence.

In this role, you will assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment programs, including exercises, mobility training, and hydrotherapy sessions. You will help prepare and maintain therapy equipment, monitor patient progress, and provide feedback to the clinical team. Your work will involve supporting patients during therapy activities and ensuring safety throughout all interventions.

Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient centered care are essential. A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting patients in achieving their goals will set you apart.

What You Will Bring To The Role

* Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or other equivalent and relevant qualification or willingness to obtain and/or experience as an Allied Health Assistant
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated experience and skills in manual handling of patients and equipment
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and organise a busy workload
* Demonstrated ability to undertake clinical duties with patients once delegated and operate with minimal direct supervision
* Computer literacy, with the ability to use Office, email, and electronic patient record systems
* Current drivers licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
