Are you a special education teacher looking for your next position? Tradewind are working closely with two co-educational Catholic schools based in West Sydney who are looking for specialist teachers to work within their high support needs units. These schools embrace diversity and offer an inclusive education for students with high support needs.
Teachers with either primary or secondary qualifications are invited to apply. This position is open to both full and part-time applicants.

The Specialist Teacher is accountable for :
* Creating inclusive practice in school culture in relation to the effective implementation of personalised learning and adjustments for students with additional needs and disability
* Understanding and implementing the Personalised Planning process
* Providing specialised teaching support services to schools aimed at building teacher capacity using a gradual release model
* Providing expert advice to leadership teams, teachers and the wider system on matters related to specific disabilities and / or additional needs in accordance with CSPD guidelines
* Working collaboratively to ensure inclusion, access and participation and to maximise learning outcomes for students with additional needs.
Prerequisites :
* Previous experience working with vulnerable students is advantageous but not essential, training can be provided
* Working holiday visa holders are encouraged to submit an application
* Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
* Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
* Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
* Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references
