We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Joinery Foreman to lead our workshop team in Melbourne's South East. Our company specializes in creating bespoke, luxury joinery for high-end residential projects, and we need a hands-on leader to take ultimate responsibility for our production from start to finish.
This is a senior role for someone with a deep understanding of joinery and a talent for leading a team to produce exceptional work. You will be the linchpin of our operation, ensuring every project is crafted to perfection and delivered on schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Translate project plans into detailed daily and weekly production schedules.
- Handover jobs to the workshop team, set clear targets, and monitor progress to ensure every job moves seamlessly from raw materials to final assembly.
- Provide expert technical guidance to our cabinet makers, efficiently resolving any queries to keep production on track.
- Review all drawings and work orders for accuracy, and conduct rigorous final inspections, signing off on all items before they are dispatched for installation.
- ead, mentor, and build a highly skilled workshop team, fostering a culture of craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
- Approve timesheets, monitor productivity, and delegate tasks to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Overseeing machine troubleshooting and routine maintenance, supervising the loading and dispatch of deliveries, and managing the purchasing of materials and supplies.
- Take ultimate responsibility for creating and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring all OHS regulations are strictly followed.
- Ensure the workspace remains clean and organized, managing rubbish disposal, trolleys, and finished products.
Skills & Experience
- Trade-qualified cabinet making certidicate essential
- Proven experience leading teams in a joinery or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of joinery, machinery, and construction methods.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and efficiently resolve complex construction challenges.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to quality control.
- Computer literacy for scheduling and documentation.
