Due to our strong ongoing growth and secured pipeline, QVR Technologies has an opportunity to employ experienced Data Communication Technicians to join an expanding team of like-minded individuals.
As a result of surging demand of key clients within the Central Coast District, we are looking for technicians and apprentices.
The specialist will play an integral part in the business working on construction/commercial premises/industrial/education & schools/health sector style environments. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to grow and develop with the business.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day operations of commercial, construction, projects, services, and more.
- Ability to understand and examine drawings, specifications, and detailed scope of works.
- Knowledge of installing various structured cabling systems including Cat6, Cat6A, Cat7 (UTP, F/UTP, U/FTP etc.) with multiple vendor experience.
- Installation of fibre optic cabling, single and multimode fibre, indoor and outdoor types.
- Commissioning and fault-finding ability, with testing experience using Fluke Analyzer Test Equipment (Copper & Fibre).
- Splicing experience preferred.
- Rack and stack network switches, patching of switches, and other ICT equipment.
- Providing good customer service to clients, building managers, site managers, supervisors, and project managers.
- Ensure health and safety compliance.
- Plan and schedule tasks effectively.
- Maintain quality control standards.
- Provide leadership and supervision.
- Handle administrative duties and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
- Delivery of projects on time and on budget.
- Organizing and working with sub-contractors if required.
- Identify problems on site and have the capability to produce solutions to adapt and overcome.
- Supporting QVR Management to execute and deliver works.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Applicant must have previous experience working on construction/commercial/industrial/education/health sector style projects.
- Construction white card.
- Working with children check.
- Driver’s license.
- ACMA Licence, Open Cable Registration (Structured cabling/Optic Fibre endorsements) deemed essential.
- A minimum of 3 years related experience.
- Vendor installer accreditation is preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment, and to support project requirements.
