Job Overview
This role involves working as an Occupational Hygiene Specialist at a mining operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees through the delivery of professional hygiene services.
* The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene or a similar field.
* Demonstrated experience within mining or heavy industry in a similar role is also necessary.
* A valid and current Manual C-class Driver's Licence is required.
* The ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders and computer literacy are also essential skills for this position.
Main Responsibilities
The Occupational Hygiene Specialist will develop, implement, review and take direct ownership of the Health Management Plan.
* They will identify and evaluate worker exposure to occupational hygiene health hazards as per site risk-based monitoring plan.
* The specialist will provide specialist advice and support to key stakeholders on health and hygiene concerns.
* Implementing and maintaining occupational hygiene processes and procedures in line with regulatory requirements is also a key responsibility.
* Assisting with maintaining, auditing and updating the hazardous materials and dangerous goods register (ChemAlert) including chemical approvals for site.
The Occupational Hygiene Specialist will educate, communicate and engage with operational personnel on health hazard management.
