About The Role

If you have recent experience working in critical care and are looking to try something different that utilises your skills, this Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) Registered Nurse opportunity offers a dynamic role within a supportive team.

You’ll be playing a vital role in managing cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death globally, working in a friendly team which includes a NUM, CNE, cardiac rehabilitation nurse, RNs and radiographers, supporting a medical team of cardiologists and cardiac advanced trainees.

The Cath Lab is fast-paced, with a skilled team and cutting edge technology, focusing on diagnosing and treating a wide variety of heart conditions and performing procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker placements, and stent placements. Each case requires precise teamwork and quick decision-making, and your compassionate care during high-pressure, life-saving procedures makes an immediate impact on the patient’s experience.

You’ll have the prospect for continuous learning with support from the CNE, as well as a mentor, in-services and hospital-based cardiology education.

Your day typically starts around 7:30 am Monday to Friday, and finishes at 18:30, ending with reflection and preparation for the next shift. There is some after hours on call work, including weekends.

This role provides a unique opportunity to try out the Cardiac Cath Lab or to get your foot in the door for a nursing career that may better suit your lifestyle with largely Monday to Friday daytime work.
