Your new role
As the Executive Officer (EL1), you will provide high-level support to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Executive Team. You'll be responsible for managing complex priorities, preparing strategic briefings and correspondence, and acting as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Your role requires a high degree of discretion, initiative, and professionalism, and is central to the smooth operation of the executive office.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new role, you will ideally have:
* Proven experience supporting senior executives in a government or a similar environment.
* Strong judgement, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels.
* A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build effective networks.
* A sound understanding of public sector operations and the higher education sector.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
