About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Primary School Teacher or Learning Support Educator to provide after-school educational support to two children aged 7 and 8.
The successful candidate will work closely with the children to strengthen literacy, reading, spelling, writing and numeracy skills while building confidence, motivation and positive learning habits.
This is a premium educational support role for an educator who enjoys individualised learning and making a meaningful impact on children's academic development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy support sessions
* Support reading fluency, comprehension, spelling and writing development
* Assist with mathematics learning and homework support
* Identify learning gaps and implement targeted teaching strategies
* Build confidence, resilience and independent learning habits
* Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents
* Liaise with school teachers where appropriate
* Create simple learning goals and support plans
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or eligibility)
* Current Working With Children Check
* Experience teaching primary school-aged children
* Strong literacy and numeracy teaching skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Reliable, professional and organised
Highly Desirable
* Experience supporting children with dyslexia, reading difficulties or learning delays
* Learning Support or Special Education experience
* Structured Literacy training
* Experience with Sounds-Write, MultiLit, MiniLit, Orton-Gillingham or similar evidence-based literacy programs
* Previous classroom teaching experience

Hours & Location
* Monday, Wednesday and Friday (or by agreement)
* 4:00pm – 6:30pm
* Two sessions conducted at the family home
* One session conducted at a library in Preston
* Approximately 7.5 hours per week
* Additional hours may be available during school holidays by mutual agreement
Remuneration
$100 per hour plus superannuation, dependent on experience and qualifications.
