The Campus
Located in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus will open in 2027 as the newest addition to Caulfield Grammar School. It will offer an exceptional Junior School education for students in Prep, and Years 4–6, with plans to expand to a full Prep to Year 6 offering in the future. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Campus Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the strategic vision and daily operations of our vibrant new Junior School. As the Deputy Head of Shelford Campus, you will bring purposeful leadership and a genuine passion for education to the role, championing excellence in student learning, wellbeing, and engagement.
You'll help cultivate a forward-thinking and supportive culture that builds community and inspires meaningful collaboration among staff, students, and families.
The Role
The Deputy Head of Campus - Shelford will play a pivotal role in shaping the identity, culture and operational framework of our new Junior School campus. Working closely with the Head of Shelford Campus, the Deputy Head of Campus will be actively involved in every phase of campus development contributing significantly to the strategic direction of the School though the planning, development and implementation of key objectives as we prepare for the campus' opening to students in 2027 and beyond.
This key leadership position will oversee the establishment of best practice teaching & learning practices, fostering a positive and inclusive learning culture and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students, staff and the broader school community as the campus grows. The Deputy Head of Campus - Shelford will also collaborate closely with our other Junior Schools, ensuring alignment with the broader "one school" approach to teaching and learning across Caulfield Grammar School.
This is a 3-year fixed term Position of Responsibility with an ongoing teaching position.
Key Duties
* Support the establishment of the inaugural Shelford Campus, shaping its identity and operational framework
* Foster a "One School" approach by active collaborating with the Campus Leadership Team, ensuring alignment between the campuses, co-curricular areas and the 2031 Strategy.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of Campus operational plans, ensuring seamless implementation.
* Play an active role in the strategic planning, development and execuation of the School's vision and objectives.
* Support the management and implementation of systems to monitor standards of safety, social conduct, uniform, punctuality and attendance.
* Pursue academic excellence with a passion, delivering outstanding outcomes for all students.
* Establish and uphold high quality, inclusive teaching and learning standards that align with our Junior School program.
* Support the development of the School's internal capabilities, fostering a high-performance culture that identifies talent focussed on excellence and continuous improvement.
* Champion the School's vision, strategy and values with a sense of shared purpose, creating alignment across campuses and co-curricular areas.
* Lead the campus' understanding and compliance with the School's Child Safety Code of Conduct, including the Child Safe Standards, and all relevant policies and procedures.
* Model and embody the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills And Experience
* Proven experience in fostering a strong sense of community through positive relationships, prioritising wellbeing, and actively engaging with the wider community.
* Experience leading and implementing highly impactful Teaching and Learning outcomes in a School with an outstanding reputation.
* Previous senior leadership experience in a dynamic junior school educational setting; experience with complex, multiple-campus schools is ideal.
* Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is highly desirable.
* Experience in leading pedagogical and curriculum development and change; the ability to operationalise strategic decisions, enhance culture, and enable quality learning.
* Proven exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
* Hold current VIT Registration.
