Job Title: Market Gardener
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Market Gardener to join our team. As a Market Gardener, you will be responsible for cultivating a variety of crops for sale at local markets and to local businesses.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate, plant, and harvest crops using sustainable and organic farming practices.
Monitor crop growth and health, managing pests and diseases as needed.
Coordinate and manage planting schedules to ensure a steady supply of fresh produce.
Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools.
Prepare produce for market, including washing, packing, and labeling.
Manage inventory and pricing for market sales.
Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in market gardening or a related field.
Knowledge of sustainable and organic farming practices.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and tools.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
