Role Overview
We have a great opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about palliative and end of life care to join our team as Hospital Palliative Care Nurse based at Ipswich Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our motivated palliative care team providing a specialist palliative care service to patients with life limiting illnesses.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist palliative care service to patients with life limiting illnesses.
* Work Monday to Friday with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; act as an autonomous practitioner part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Develop career in palliative care, support progression, regular learning, teaching sessions with colleagues, national research projects, local hospice.
* Participate in the development of specialist palliative care services within the hospital.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing an advisory, educational and supportive service to all staff caring for patients whose illness is not responsive to curative treatment.
* Be responsible for providing information and support to a caseload of palliative care patients trust‑wide.
* Accept continuing responsibility for the development of the palliative care nursing service ensuring it meets national recommendations and Improving Outcomes Guidance as it is published.
