Overview
The Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service (TCHHS) is seeking an experienced and strategic communications leader to guide their Communications and Public Affairs portfolio. This rare opportunity will shape the voice, reputation and engagement of one of Queensland's most unique and culturally significant health services, advancing health equity, supporting the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy, Digital and Performance, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering high‐quality internal and external communications for TCHHS, providing strategic advice on emerging issues, clinical environment changes, balancing operational delivery with proactive and timely communications responses.
* You will lead the Communications and Public Affairs portfolio, delivering strategic communications, media relations, correspondence liaison, events, online publishing and design services aligned to TCHHS priorities.
* You will guide and mentor a high‐performing team, fostering professionalism, creativity, ethical conduct and a culture of service excellence, overseeing the delivery of consistent, contemporary and effective communications across the organisation through strong leadership, collaboration and integrated service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
You are an experienced senior communications executive with highly developed leadership ability and experience managing multidisciplinary teams with a genuine interest in remote and Indigenous health. Providing strategic advice to the Health Service Chief Executive, you will identify critical information gaps and align resources to best facilitate the achievement of corporate objectives, drawing upon best practice stakeholder engagement and issues-management principles.
