Overview
General practitioner - overflow of patients - no weekends - Central Coast
This clinic, established for over 40 years, is seeking a GP to keep up with increasing patient demand after a nearby group closed. The practice is currently open 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, with most doctors consulting 15-minute appointments. All doctors are booked out 2-3 days ahead, with some bookings extending up to 2 weeks.
Practice type: Private billing, with billing discretion by each doctor; bulk billing is at the physician’s choice.
Nursing team: 7 Registered Nurses covering Mental Health, Treatment Room, Better Health Clinic (management plans, health assessments, diabetic reviews), Aged Care Facility Care Plans, and Home Visits for those over 75 years old. Nurse team is led by a Nurse Team Leader.
Software: BP for clinical records and Pracsoft for billing and appointment management.
Allied health onsite: Podiatrist, Dietitian, Diabetes Educator, Counsellor, 2 Physiotherapists, and an Exercise Physiologist. A Cardiologist and Urologist visit periodically, and there is an Echocardiography technician on site.
Qualifications & requirements: Robust verbal and written communication skills; Vocational Registration (FRACGP | FACRRM | FRNZCGP); Full Australian work rights; General Practice experience in Australia; Passion and commitment to providing a high level of care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high patient load in a long-established, patient-centered clinic.
- Work within a private billing practice with discretion to bulk bill where appropriate.
- Operate within the 8am-6pm, Monday-to-Friday schedule and maintain timely patient access (many bookings weeks in advance).
- Collaborate with nursing staff and allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
