Salary Range: School Officer Level 3 – $34.17 to $35.62 gross per hour

St Therese's Parish School is part of the Cairns Diocese and the Edmonton Parish. Located 20 minutes south of Cairns City it provides Catholic education to the rapidly growing area. The school, with roughly 620 students from Prep to Year 6, offers modern facilities and a holistic educational environment. The current campus has been in place since 1995 and supports the growth of the community.
About The Role
The School Learning Officer maximises educational outcomes for students by providing assistance to teachers in meeting learning goals. This may involve supporting teachers in small group or 1:1 scenarios.
Responsibilities
* Assist in evaluating and assessing the learning needs of students under direction of classroom teachers.
* Work with students following lesson plans provided by the class teacher.
* Provide physical assistance to students where appropriate.
* Participate in planning days with team teachers to discuss student needs.
* Support students with social and emotional needs, including supervising a student when temporarily removed from the classroom.
* Adhere to classroom rules, expectations, incentive schemes and behaviour management plans as directed.
* Assist with in‐class support programmes as directed.
* Report regularly to the classroom teacher on student progress эксккасар.
* Assist with group work in Literacy block time when appropriate for the year level.
* Keep accurate records of student work sessions.
* Supervise students with concerns referred by teaching staff for resolution, as required.

* Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
