Position Overview
The Human Resource Adviser will provide professional HR advice and support across recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, and compliance. The role ensures HR practices align with Fair Work legislation, NDIS standards, and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with Fair Work Act and NDIS Practice Standards
* Provide advice and support to management and staff on a wide range of human resource policies, procedures, and employment-related matters in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
* Assist in the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, workforce strategies, and organisational development initiatives.
* Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment processes, including job design, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding.
* Support performance management processes by advising supervisors on performance frameworks, documentation, improvement plans, and employee development pathways.
* Conduct workplace investigations relating to grievances, misconduct, or policy breaches, ensuring procedural fairness and accurate documentation.
* Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and prepare HR reports, submissions, and recommendations for senior leadership.
* Facilitate staff training and development programs, including induction, compliance training, and capability‑building workshops.
* Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including award interpretation, employment contracts, workplace rights, and conflict resolution.
* Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and compliance documentation in accordance with organisational standards and regulatory obligations.
* Support organisational change initiatives, including restructuring, role redesign, and workforce planning activities.
* Liaise with external agencies, training providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with employment legislation, WHS requirements, and industry standards.
* Contribute to building a positive workplace culture that supports staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention.
Essential Requirements
* Relevant qualification: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 1–3 years of experience in a human resources advisory, coordination, or generalist role.
* Demonstrated understanding of Australian employment legislation, HR frameworks, and contemporary HR practices.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams.
* Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
* Experience in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and documentation.
