Australian Project Solutions Group – Brisbane QLD
APSG Talent is on an exciting growth trajectory — and we're looking for a sharp, driven, and highly organised Business Manager to join us.
This is not your average admin job. This is a role for someone who wants variety, ownership, and the chance to make a real impact in a growing business.
APSG Talent is a Brisbane-based recruitment and consulting business partnering with organisations across Australia in engineering, construction, professional services, and commercial sectors. We deliver people-first recruitment solutions with a focus on quality, speed, and service excellence.
We are growing and now seeking a highly organised, proactive Business Manager to support the Director across business operations, finance administration, marketing, and recruitment support.
This is a casual, work-from-home role ideal for someone who thrives in a varied position and enjoys working autonomously.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting APSG Talent's next stage of growth. Working closely with the Founder, you'll be across the heartbeat of the business — ensuring operational excellence, supporting recruitment workflow, strengthening client and candidate engagement, and contributing to business development activity.
This is a role for someone who wants more than day-to-day admin. You'll gain exposure to commercial decision-making, help streamline processes, assist with new business opportunities, and directly influence the quality, efficiency, and professional image of APSG Talent.
You'll assist with finance tasks, candidate sourcing, business development support, inbox and workflow management, invoicing, basic payroll preparation, social media scheduling, and general operations. If you thrive in a varied position, take pride in exceptional attention to detail, and enjoy being the key person who keeps the business moving — this role is for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Administration
Manage the APSG inbox (48-hour response KPI) and general business correspondence.
Maintain CRM accuracy and update client/candidate information.
Coordinate basic calendar bookings, tasks, and follow-ups.
Prepare internal documents, templates, and reports.
Maintain business memberships, insurances, and subscriptions.
Finance Support
Create invoices and process bills using Xero.
Prepare payroll inputs and ensure timely payment information.
Assist with expense reconciliation and simple bookkeeping support.
Liaise with APSG's accountant/bookkeeper as required.
Recruitment & Business Development Support
Conduct proactive candidate sourcing as directed, including LinkedIn, job boards, and reverse marketing.
Prepare tailored reverse marketing emails and follow-up communication to enhance candidate placement opportunities.
Assist with drafting proposals, capability statements, and pitch decks for new business opportunities.
Support BD activity through pipeline management, CRM updates, and client research.
Help nurture warm leads, prepare outreach lists, and coordinate follow-up touchpoints.
Maintain accurate sourcing activity and BD records, ensuring visibility over commercial opportunities.
Marketing & Social Media
Prepare and schedule LinkedIn posts using Canva.
Assist with basic marketing collateral and campaign support.
Contribute ideas to improve brand presence.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone who is:
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Excellent at managing time and juggling multiple priorities.
A strong communicator with professional written English.
Comfortable working autonomously in a WFH environment.
Proactive and not afraid to take initiative.
Tech-savvy, with experience in Xero, Canva, CRM/ATS, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
3+ years' experience in administration, operations, business support, or similar.
Experience in recruitment or a service-based business is highly regarded.
Finance admin experience (invoicing, payroll inputs, reconciliation) desirable.
What You'll Gain
A strategic, hands-on role working directly with the Founder, gaining exposure to commercial strategy, client acquisition, and executive decision-making.
The opportunity to help shape how a growing recruitment and consulting business operates, scales, and delivers value to clients.
Direct involvement in business development activities, including supporting new client acquisition, preparing proposals, and contributing to commercial growth.
A chance to influence systems, processes, branding, and operational frameworks — your ideas won't just be heard, they'll be implemented.
Clear pathways to grow your responsibilities, hours, and career scope as the business continues to expand.
A flexible, supportive environment with high autonomy, where initiative, creativity, and commercial thinking are genuinely valued.
