Position SummaryThe Information Technology Specialist (ITS) will provide technical support and management of both hardware and software in the IT Department at George Walton Academy. This role will support and assist students and staff with all technical requests. The Information Technology Specialist will report to the Director of Information Technology. This is a 12-month position to start as soon as possible.Primary ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for end-usersInstall and configure software applications and updatesWork on ticketing system to update, escalate and resolve ticketsManage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, Google & O365Provide technical support in classrooms campus-wideMonitor and maintain network infrastructure, including switches and routersTest, deploy, and implement new wireless access pointsCollaborate with IT team to implement new technologies and systemsMaintain security best practices with access to systemsAssist in the onboarding and offboarding of faculty, staff, and studentsUpdate inventory of hardware and software assetsConfigure and troubleshoot new and existing network hardwareMaintenance of computer hardware and software as neededCoordinate vendor related support for surveillance and access controlCreate and update technical documentation and diagramsPerform other duties assignedRequirements and QualificationsA Bachelor's degree and/or Technical Certifications or equivalent experienceSolid technical acumen and ability to attain new technical proficienciesKnowledge and general understanding of Office 365Experience with Google Admin administration (Google Certifications preferred)Familiarity with School Information Systems (Renweb)Considerable knowledge of current and emerging technologies and new practicesKnowledge and experience with the use of PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, iPads, Smartboards, interactive touchscreen TVs, document cameras, projectors as well as a wide variety of digital resources, tools, and instructional softwareAbility to quickly learn unfamiliar tools and share the information with a diverse group of peopleStrong technical, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to troubleshoot and remediate equipment issues in coordinationAbility to instruct and work collaboratively with administration, teachers, students, and parentsPersonal qualities sought: Integrity, analytical thinker, ability to multi-task, problem solver, flexible, creative, patient, a life-long learner who seeks to remain current through continuing education and professional development
